VELscope System
The VELscope system is an invaluable part of our practice as it allows us to detect Oral Cancer in its early stages so appropriate treatment options can be immediately implemented. This is a great advantage in increasing the survival and treatment success rates of oral cancer.
Intra Oral Camera
The intra oral camera takes up-close and personal photos of teeth and gums which project up onto the computer screen. This allows you to see what your dentist does so any problem areas can be explained while you watch, giving you a more comprehensive understanding of your current oral state.. Patients are able to take home the pictures to allow for discussion later.
Low Dose, Digital X-Rays
Dental radiographs (x-rays) are essential, preventative, diagnostic tools that provide valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam. Dentists and dental hygienists use this information to safely and accurately detect hidden dental abnormalities and complete an accurate treatment plan. Without x-rays, problem areas may go undetected.
Dental X-Rays May Reveal:

Low Dose, Digital X-Rays use up to 90% less radiation than their film counterparts. However, our dedicated Dentists take necessary precautions to limit the patient’s exposure to radiation when taking dental x-rays. These precautions include using modern, fast film that cuts down the exposure time of each x-ray.
Moreover, these x-rays are more detailed and efficient with the results being able to be viewed almost instantaneously on the computer screen.
Soft-tissue diode laser
Council Avenue Dental and Implant Centre is equipped with a state-of-the-art soft-tissue diode laser. Laser dentistry treatments can shorten treatment, reduce discomfort, and enhance treatment outcomes.
